At June 14 NA regular sitting the draft law on Ratifying the Agreement on Use of Milit a ry Satellite Communi c ation Systems and Their Further Enhancement was debated.

According to the RA Deputy Minister of Defense Arman Sargsyan, the purpose of the Agreement on use of military satellite communication systems and their further enhancement is the strengthening of management reliability of the armed forces of its participant states and the organization of the cooperation ties between the armed forces, which is implemented including through the creation of the of military satellite communication integrated systems of the CIS member states, its development of national segments, taking into consideration the agreed technical requirements.

The resource of the spacecraft capacity of retransmitters of the RF military importance is provided to the parties, stemming from the interests of the management of the armed forces of the participant states of the Agreement and the organization of the ties of cooperation of the military government bodies of their armed forces. The use of the resource is provided on the basis of the operation of the ground stations of the military satellite communication systems allowed for the use of the RF armed forces by the armed forces.

The agreements in the sphere of the resource, including the opportunity of its free provision on military-technical support are reached by bilateral Agreements, which are signed between the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the defense departments of the participant states of the Agreement.

The Deputy Minister underlined that Armenia is joining the Agreement with a condition that the Republic of Armenia will make a separate decision on spreading the provisions of the Agreement on Use of Military Satellite Communication Systems and Their Further Enhancement towards the states, which will join the Agreement.
